Harley was born on June 6th, 1974 in Campbell River, B.C. He moved to Chilliwack, B.C. with his family as a young boy. Not only did Harley have a passion for playing music, but his biggest joy in life was his family. Harley passed away on May 4th, 2008 from Testiculer Cancer at age 34. Harley left behind his loving wife Stacie and his 2 children Adam & Sierra. Echos Orbit consisted of musicians that Harley use to play with. The event was held at a local club in his memory.
1st Annual Golf Tournament in Memory of Harley Stobbe - September 14, 2008
Mike Carol and Harley's wife Stacie held the 1st annual golf tournament on September 14th in memory of Harley.Many of Harleys friends and family attended to take a moment to remember him and also to help raise money to bring awareness to Testicular Cancer. In total they raised $3,000.00 What a great job they did!! Thanks to all who helped make this day a success.
2nd Annual Golf Tournament in Memory of Adam DeSousa - July 11th, 2008
TCTCA held it's 2nd Annual Golf Tournament in Memory of Adam DeSousa on Friday July 11, 2008 at Grand Valley Golf Course. What a great day! Once again we raised over $13,500.00 to help fund our Check 'Em Campaign this fall in Waterloo Region. Thank you to all those who participated and Sponsored our golf tournament. Mike Campbell Memorial Ball Hockey Tournament - April 5th, 2008
The Mike Campbell Memorial Ball Hockey Tournament was held on Saturday, April 5th at Sir Sanford Fleming College. There were a total of 18 teams who came out to participated in this event. A big thank you to The Sporting Goods Business Program, who Mike was part of before he lost his life to Testicular Cancer in December 2005. Everyone took part in helping raise money for TCTCA including the international students who sold sausages. We would also like to thank The Dean of Fleming College, Dr Tilly, the Dean of Business along with Mr McGee and Mike's mother Terry Campbell who all gave inspiring speeches. A special thank you to Charles McGee, Katrina and thanks to Chris who supplied the entertainment for the day, and all the volunteers who helped make this day such a success!!! Thank you to the Walmart located in Cambridge at Hespeler and the 401 for allowing us to have our hot dog and hamburger day in front of the store. We were able to raise $428.59 which Walmart will match. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us with their donations. Monies raise will be used toward our on-going efforts to bring awareness about Testicular Cancer and early detection.
1st Annual Golf Tournament in Memory of Adam DeSousa - August 19th, 2007
The Canadian Testicular Cancer Association hosted their 1st Annual Golf Tournament in Memory of Adam DeSousa who was 18 years old in his last year of high school at Southwood Secondary School in Cambridge when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He died 7 months later on November 9, 2003. Adam's dream was to someday help to bring awareness about testicular cancer. This event was hosted at Grand Valley Golf Course, Sunday August 19th all proceeds (We raised almost $9500!) go toward the education and awareness about testicular cancer for young men. On Tuesday July 31st Daniel Schneiderman put together a benefit show for The Canadian Testicular Cancer Association where $1,961.00 was raised towards awareness for this disease.
It was an evening of entertainment with three hilarious local comedians, Mike Balazo, Chris Locke & Levi McDougal. There was fantastic raffle prizes and even a giant testicle pinata with the feature presentation of the performance of Daniel's one-man show, " MY LEFT NUT". We would like to thank the Ayr Adult Soccer League who donated the proceeds from their annual "Super 7" co-ed recreational soccer tournament to The Canadian Testicular Cancer Association. 45 players were involved in the event which ran all day under sunny skies. As you can see from the attached pictures, it was a complete success. We'd also like to thank Paul Schmelefske for arranging the after party during the evening. Another excellent time with live bands and tons of food.
